James Pants / Hudson Mohawke

Wer nach der großen Technosause am Mittwoch Abend Lust auf -und Kraft für- ein ebenso tolles, aber deutlich vielseitigeres Programm hatte, der fand sich abends im Studio 672 in unserer Festivalzentrale ein, um James Pants und Hudson Mohawke gebührend abzufeiern. Erstgenannter feuerte ein Wahnsinnsset aus Hip Hop, 60s Soul, 70s Punk, Psychedelic Rock, Breakbeats, Jungle, Reggae, Elektro and whatnot ab, dass, man verzeihe die Floskel, die Fetzen aber sowas von flogen. Das vollgestopfte Studio tanzte sich die Füße wund und ging gehörig steil. 

Bei Hudson Mohawke ging es stilistisch enger gesteckt, aber nicht weniger orgiastisch zur Sache. Magenmassierende Subbässe, peitschende Digi-Drumrolls, Soulsamples und Synthflächen ergaben eine dubby Groovewalze, die den Schweiß von der Decke tropfen und Tanzfüße noch ein Stück wunder werden ließen. Beide Akteure zeigten Minimal-Köln mal gewaltig, wie man Feierei buchstabiert.

c/o pop has been taking place anually in Cologne since 2004. The programme of the festival is dedicated to contemporary pop culture in all its variety. Parallel to the festival, c/o pop hosts a business forum known as the c/o pop Convention which is directed to professionals from the creative industries. The convention focusses on networking between the different creative industries. Another major c/o pop project is »Europareise«, a network of 70 festivals which helps to connect the festival scene from Europe and beyond. 2010 c/o pop saw over 30,000 visitors and 1,200 professionals from 30 countries.
